Dinosaur Adventure 3-D Knowledge Adventure, Inc. 1999

Led by an animated Parasaurolophus named Rolf, kids have the opportunity to explore the three main sections of Paleo Island, each involving a major paleolithic era of the past (Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous). They can learn more about the animals, plants and other scenery by clicking on them and are often presented with a short computer-generated movie about their selection. But visitors aren't there just to look around! They also must help Rolf reclaim nine eggs that were lost when evacuating the attack of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. They can achieve this feat by correctly identifying the answer to a clue provided by Rolf's friend Pterrance the Pteranodon, available in certain scenes. But even after gaining an egg, their work isn't finished yet! Once an egg is earned, three hatching crystals must be attained in order to birth a baby dinosaur. Only through success in one of the seven educational games can a crystal be gained. Your child might have to reassemble dinosaur bones, guide Rolf safely across a tar pit or even escape a stampede of dinos hoping to escape the hungry T-Rex. The games are designed not only to teach children about various dinosaurs but also to develop skills like puzzle solving and quick thinking. Collect and view 18 dinosaur movies. "Galloping Gallimimuses" closely resembles the stampede escape scene in Disney's The Lion King. Also, "Triassic Tar Pits" somewhat resembles Frogger.
