This is a German fan-adventure series (a few episodes are in English) which is about bringing Maniac Mansion to an extended life and adding to the adventurous world. The series is designed as an episodic format so that every developer can contribute her or his own story to the universe of Maniac Mansion. Participating is not a hard thing to do. To help you create your own game, there are numerous resources you can draw from. The starter-packs contain basic resources and a layout for adventures in Lucas Arts' SCUMM-style, to which you can easily add additional characters, places and music created by other users for previous games. There are over 100 fan-made episodes and specials using pixel optics of adventures from 1987 - all can be downloaded for free. The remakes have all the familiar characters and scenes and music of the original. |
