Angela Young is still trapped inside her own dream, trying to find a way to wake up and escape the nightmare. Like its predecessor, Angela Young 2: Escape the Dreamscape is a hidden object game with a surreal plot, where a little girl must travel through bizarre landscapes to find her lost kitten. Most of the time, the objective is to collect all the items listed at the bottom of the screen on locations filled with assorted paraphernalia. The list displays either the names or silhouettes of the objects. After finishing the seek-and-find challenge, the location is used again for an adventure section, where scenery objects have to be dragged and dropped on top of each other in a logical way to solve a puzzle. Sparkles fly off the cursor when it is hovering over one of the key puzzle objects. Sometimes the screen is split in two similar images, and the player has to click on the differences. Mini-games appear occasionally on a separate screen, where they can be solved by direct manipulation. Most are common puzzles often found on other games of the genre. In the bottomless well game, the goal is to move rectangular stone blocks to clear the path to the exit for Angela's boat. Their movement is limited due to the space constraints, and the player must find the correct way to move them out of the way. Other mini-games include jigsaw puzzle variations with tiles and concentric circles, the classic matches puzzle where the correct wood sticks have to be removed to create a number of squares, and other similar challenges. The hint button highlights the position of one of the required items, but take some time to recharge after use. |
