Curse at Twilight: Thief of Souls Amaranth Games, LLC 2012

Curse at Twilight: Thief of Souls is a point-and-click, hidden-object puzzle/adventure game in the horror genre. Players will travel from place to place, unraveling the mystery of Darkfall Manor through solving hidden object puzzles, mini-games, and discovering objects that progress the storyline. There are two difficulty settings (Casual or Hard) to choose from, allowing players to control how easy or hard puzzles are to solve. Casual mode fills the Hint and Skip meters more quickly, and areas sparkle making them easier to locate. Hard mode on the other hand has a longer filling time for the Hint and Skip meters, and areas of activity do not sparkle, making puzzles more challenging. In Hard mode, the only way to know everything has been discovered is to move the mouse over every inch of the playing screen. Once the Hint meter is full, a question mark appears at the bottom right side of the screen. Clicking the Hint icon in a puzzle or mini-puzzle will point out an object that needs to be found, while using Hints in adventure mode will let you know an activity that needs to be performed in the room, but will not tell you where you should go next. There are three types of hidden object hunts. The first is the List. Players are given a list of objects they need to located in a particular screen. Once items have been collected, they are stored in the inventory, accessible at the bottom of the playing screen. Second is the Riddle. Here players discover items based on clues given at the bottom of the screen. Last is the Replace hunt. Some puzzles require objects found previously to be placed in the current scene. Retrieve objects from inventory and put them in their appropriated spot to complete the quest.
