Youda Legend: The Golden Bird of Paradise Youda Games Holding B.V. / Mastertronic 2010

Like its predecessor, this is a hidden object game with some elements from the adventure genre. The player assumes the role of a relic hunter, searching various tropical locations for clues about an ancient artifact. Most of the time, the objective is to find and click on all the items listed at the left side of the screen, on remote locations filled with assorted objects scattered through the scenery. Some of the collected items are stored inside the inventory, accessible as a retracting tray at the bottom of the screen. The objects have to be dragged and dropped from their tray slots to the appropriate and logical places of the scenery, to perform an action or complete a task. As in most point-and-click adventures, inventory objects can be used on other inventory items to fix, clean, or prepare them in some other way. Besides the list items, the locations have gems that give extra points, and are set as decorations to the surrounding interface. The hint button is a statue head sitting at the top of the list that, when activated, turns and shoots light beams from its eyes to highlight one of the required objects with a circle. The statue takes some time to recharge after use. Some puzzles take place on a separate screen, where the player has to match pairs of dice by theme, place coins on a grid on slots that match their engravings, enter a series of Mayan symbols on a code cylinder, complete a jigsaw puzzle with map pieces, step on the correct sequence of round boulders of a stone path, reassemble a shattered glass statuette, trace patterns on the screen to cut dense vegetation with a machete, and complete other similar challenges. These mini-games can be skipped after a few minutes.
