Minecraft Classic Mojang AB 2009

Minecraft Classic (originally just Minecraft) was the initial alpha version of Minecraft. It was renamed to Classic when the developer decided to keep it running alongside of the version of Minecraft that had added features such as enemies, crafting and others. This is a sandbox game in which the player can build whatever he wants. The whole world is made of cubes that can be removed or added at the players' whim. Cubes have different textures to make them look like materials such as dirt, stone, bricks, boards and cloth. There's no objectives in the game other than the player's imagination. Players can run around freely in either single or multi player. The players are bound by physics but can jump to reach higher positions. Most blocks are not bound by physics however and will hover in mid air. The exeptions are yellow sand and water. Sand will always fall if cubes beneath it are free and water will aways fill holes beneath its surface. The world in Minecraft is randomly generated. Each world is a fixed size island surrounded by water. Players can build in between an impenetrable layer of lava and the clouds. On September 15, 2011, sounds and music ceased to work, and saving levels to the online server was no longer possible (levels previously saved on the server were lost) due to Mojang removing the game's resources directory from its servers. On August 8, 2012, the link to the Minecraft Classic subpage was removed from the Minecraft home page; while it was restored after complaints, it was removed again on July 1, 2013. In September 2015 the subpage was removed entirely, thus ending the official support of Minecraft Classic. On May 7, 2019, Minecraft Classic received an official re-release to celebrate the then upcoming 10th anniversary of the game's original release. The released version is rewritten in JavaScript and is essentially the same as the original, complete with the original bugs, sound and music. It can be played in multiplayer with up to 9 other players.
