Chop Suey Magnet Interactive Studios 1995

In this award-winning and entertaining title named Entertainment Weekly's CD-Rom of the year, you join Lily and June Bugg on an exploration of their hometown of Cortland, Ohio - a magical place that's sure to capture your curiosity and inspire your imagination. Discover offbeat characters who transform everyday life into a fascinating adventure. Read along with the story and enrich your vocabulary with sophisticated, humorous literature. Chop Suey is an easy-to-use, fun-filled interactive daydream. Enjoy extraordinary illustrations, movies on the moon, songs that will have you singing along, and places where you can eat all the chocolate and Chop Suey you want. It has humorous characters, charming songs and surprising adventures. The rich stories have sophisticated vocabulary, vibrant illustrations and enchanting animation. The game was developed by women to encourage girls' creativity and enrich their computer skills but is fun for everyone. The game, more interactive fiction than button-smasher, is narrated by the dulcet screeches of a then-unknown David Sedaris. Brendan Canty, the drummer of Fugazi, contributed the music. In 2015, a Kickstarter was successfully supported to preserve "The Theresa Duncan CD-ROMs" and marks the first time server-side emulation has been used on a large scale to provide access to digital artwork.
