Sethi And The Crown Of Egypt Montparnasse Multimedia / Mindscape 2001

This is an entertaining historical CD-ROM adventure game which takes you across the Nile and into the temples and burial chambers under the Egyptian pyramids. The Pharaoh has mysteriously lost his divine power and it's your mission to help him before chaos engulfs the kingdom - click on the characters and they'll talk to you and offer objects such as scrolls which help you in your quest to unravel the puzzle. It's organized like a detective story - you must successfully collect royal symbols of the Pharaoh (including a double crown, cross and a whip) to solve it. It imaginatively brings ancient Egypt to life. The sound effects add to the atmosphere, and a guided tour gives valuable tips on how to call up maps and get to the next Egyptian destination - which could mean dodging snapping crocodiles! Accompany Sethi, the young boy, and Pepi, his monkey, and you'll soon be immersed in villages, temples and workshops, meeting peasants, scribes and priests along the way. There are many fun activities within the game, including the mummification workshop where the secrets of mummification are explained. Children can print out pictures of the favourite areas of Egypt they have visited in the game.
