This is a point-and-click adventure game series that involves the use of logThe All-Knowingic and the cause-and-effect of selected actions and staged in a fictional world and kingdom called Fredericus. The two main characters are Reemus, an exterminator, and his assistant, Liam the purple bear. Reemus is inclined to be complacent and narcissistic while Liam is agreeable and kind. Reemus is seeking to outdo his brother, a dragon slayer, in fame and when 97% of the population is illiterate, the only way to get yourself known is through songs of heroic quests. Prequel: Lair of the Ant Queen (May) - An innkeeper asks the duo to rid his inn of an ant infestation. At first, Reemus is reluctant to do so as it would "affect the quality and bravado" of his heroic ballad he's writing about being an exterminator. Then the innkeeper shows him that the ants in question are as big as humans and their anthill the size of a volcano. The prologue consists of random puzzles that lead Reemus and Liam to the Ant Queen, which Reemus must defeat. Chapter 1: The Royal Journey (Sep) - The king invites them to the castle but they are pursued by a wolf-like creature. Then they find most of the castle's inhabitants are dead and a wizard helps them to discover it's due to death slugs which they must eradicate. Chapter 2: The All-Knowing Parasite (Dec) - Then they discover that the slugs can mutate and absorb the characteristics of the organisms they ingest. Before they can act, they are hit by Sugar Bee Honey darts and pass out. They are held captive by a Gygax, a many-mouthed creature. Can they escape and get the good ending of a possible three? Chapter 3: Know Thy Enemy (July/2009) - You start play as a death slug who crashes into the kingdom on a meteor and then ingests a Gygax. It turns out to be a vision from the all-knowing parasite. On their way to a nearby kingdom, the duo find a cockroach politician who is being held captive. You must decide on one of two ways to save it: The Path of Least Resistance or the Path of Aggression. Chapter 4: The Beastly Blackhole of Bureaucracy (Jan/2012) - Reemus and Liam land on the shores of the Kingdom of Danricus with high hopes of securing their heroic quest to stop the Death Slug invasion. Unfortunately they soon find themselves caught up in the bumbling bureaucratic process of The Danricus Department of Heroes. Reemus and Liam find themselves in a race against the clock as a wave of Death Slug enslaved Gygax makes their way towards the castle gates. The prologue and Chapter 3 won awards at JayIsGames site for best point-and-click adventures of the year in competitions. | ||
