This is a point and click adventure title from the team that has released 4 of the 5 free episodes to King’s Quest: The Silver Lining. Tremendous fan support has allowed the team to craft their own commercial adventure. This new episodic game features Erica Reed, an FBI agent with the super natural ability of post-cognition. Basically, she touches stuff and can see how events went down. Cognition is 4 episodes long with each episode encompassing approximately 4-6 hours of game time. It uses 3D characters and objects placed on gorgeous 2D hand drawn backgrounds. This combination is quite striking and allows for some unconventional mechanics and unexpected moments. Multiple camera angles, first person puzzles, and lens flare effects are just some of the surprises in Cognition’s opening prologue. It succesfully met its $25,000 funding goal on Kickstarter. Episode 1: Hangman (Oct 31) Three years after the murder of her brother Scott, Erica Reed is still haunted by the escape of his killer, especially now that her Director, Madison Davies, is officially calling it a cold case and refusing to let Erica look into it any more. Instead, Erica and her partner John McCoy are given the mysterious hanging murder of a man whose fingerprints have been removed. Someone wanted him to suffer, but why? Who was he? And why is the crimescene making Erica's powers spiral out of control? Episode 2: The Wise Monkey (Jan 30) When someone close to Erica is kidnapped by the Wise Monkey, a serial killer fixated on the gruesome mutilation of their victims, and Erica is in a race against time to save his life. With the Wise Monkey case in her hands and the FBI’s resources already stretched thin, she’s on her own to find the killer before it’s too late — again. Episode 3: The Oracle (May 16) When a trail of clues—and bodies—lead Erica to the luxurious Enthon Towers, her post-cognitive powers leave her unable to escape the dark betrayals in its past. The shocking truth about the Oracle’s identity is revealed, along with the killer’s connection to Erica’s own tragic past. No longer sure who she can trust, if anyone, Erica is determined to find the truth, no matter what the cost. Episode 4: The Cain Killer (Sep 17) In the intense finale of Cognition, the Cain Killer resurfaces and Erica is on her own to finish what she started three years ago.
