Lithtech Engine 1 and Fiddler's Green

Was there a workaround to play those games that had Lithtech Engine 1 ever made for 64bit Os ??? wanted to play some of Grooves old titles like Sniper 1 ... not even a wrapper works on this engine (flickering , wrapped textures , ultra non controllable vsync speeds)

As for Land of the Dead Fiddler's Green goes ... got this working with a wrapper (its Unreal 1 , this engine works on any system) but hit a snag ... i cannot create a Profile to play this game ... heck it all started with Vista and then later on ... did someone figured it out ... or we are Sh!t our of luck in this WIn10 gen ...

For the LithTech engine, that's gotta be nVidia hating you (prime reason, doubtful of any others). I have Intel HD Graphics (as said before, that's what my POS laptop gives me to work with, no details, ничего, kurwa), and ran Shogo, Vietnam: Black Ops, Sniper: Path of Vengeance (dunno about World War II: Sniper though), Codename: Nina, and Terror Strike with no errors apart from slowdowns (but no glitches) on D3D (due to being 8.1 64-bit, as reported on various forums, I don't believe W10 would cripple the playability for these, at least to a noticeable margin)...
As for Fiddler's Green I'd say exactly the same unfortunately, finished it on the same former OS (as well as played some custom Unreal Gold pack grabbed from TPB, can't find it ATM due to Torrentz RIP), error-free, so it's not that engine either (although I do have issues with UDK-made games :lol: )!
So yes, a way it's meant to be screwed over, as you've elaborated in several posts in detail, sry...

Wait you cloud create a profile In Fiddler's Green on Win8.1 ??? How ???
On what system settings ? Because from Vista to Win 10 ... no one on those 64 bit OS's could create a Profile under this game, to play it (when you press NEW GAME ,game asks to create a profile , but you cannot do it .. it writes it in registry + in a INI file but to do that, it has to have some sort of privilege , not even if you run it with Administrative privileges, or in Administrative OS profile , no matter the compatibility options , no matter the hard drive letter or partition ... none worked)... you are forced to play it in WInXp Sp2 ...or on some other persons profile injected to your OS ( heck even this was and big thing back when this game came out ... people on vista had this custom profile with regkey so they could play this Movie game)

Just look around the net , people have a problem running this game on OS's beyond winxp

Same with Lithtech 1 , users with other cards have the same problem ... the only solution was a custom made software mode ddraw.dll , but then your where forced to play with no hardware acceleration ...and you get speeds beyond vsync control that you cannot slow down

So this doesn't on WinXP in VMWare Workstation Player with gpu pass-through? It would seem like decent candidate for that.

Hell if I know, grabbed all those games mentioned from ISO Demos here (except Terror Strike which I got on a pirated disc long ago, GOGed Shogo, and the already stated Unreal Gold from TPB), with yamibito's package of Fiddler's Green, that I'm certain of, all ran as-is on admin, most likely haven't messed with compatibility settings, or hardly anything for that matter except the ingame settings. Lacking in time to verify that on me W10 for yeh ATM, sry...

You need a CPU that supports IOMMU which is VT-D (Intel) and AMD-Vi. This allows Virtual Machines to interface directly with peripheral devices. Currently every 2011-V3 cpu, i7-4790k, and most non-K processors do. For a mostly complete list of Intel/AMD cpus that support IOMMU check here If yours doesn't and you don't plan to get one anytime soon then this isn't for you.

have to test it , but seeing videos on YT it works well but from Winxp and Up ...

Win7 with Nvidia 680 gtx here.

My old Shogo cd works with win98 compatibility

Altho there are patches for it and the GoG version works out of the box on higher resolutions.

Blood 2 (is that lichtech 1?) is also the same, but that one tends to crash alot unless i apply the community fixes.

its the only version of LithTech that does not work with wrappers ... hmm AVP2 was popular, have to wave with it if someone got it to work and use those ideas to make others compatible

Hey, we're both right, nVidia butchers compatibility! Unfortunately never having a nVidia myself, I can't help ye here...
As for Fiddler's Green try to mess with permissions (Read/Write/Full) of the main EXE (and others if any), and also it'd help if the behavior of this error is written in detail (all I've seen is "snag", a mention on OS' affected, and various solutions tried to no avail, sry mate), other than that I'm powerless (will have time in October) :(
OTOH found the custom repack of Unreal Gold I was talking about in the topic, go check it out, might have a remedy on its own :)

Fiddler's Green FOV solution (Hor + screen streetch)

1. Edit LODT.ini file.
2. Find these lines:
FullscreenViewportX=xxxx
FullscreenViewportY=xxxx

3. Change xxxx values to your desidered resolution.

4. Now edit USER.ini file.
5. Find these lines:
DesiredFOV=65.000000
DefaultFOV=65.000000

6. Change both values to set FOV to your preference.

- According to FOV Calc, it should be 74.8 for 16:10 resolutions and 80.7 for 16:9 resolutions.
- FOV can be also changed in console, FOV x
- The weapon in your view is Vert -, even if you extremely increase the FOV.

all of those are based on dgVoodoo wraper... that works for some but not for those that i need it to work , Marine Sharpshooter 1 and 2
