If people still want to try the safedisc driver enable method.
Windows 10 is being used here
Actually got that driver finally signed and safedisc renabled, and can confirm that the physical retail copy at least works. I have no idea wthat I did though in the end
The built in disable driver signature enforcement method in Windows 10 didnt work for me.
What I believe in ended up doing. (Confirmed with a VM.)
Download this file
https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/file ... rwin10zip/Extract to a temporary location on the system.
Copy secdrv.sys to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\
Import secdrv.reg to Windows registry.
Enable test mode
http://maxedtech.com/about-testmode/Press Start->Search->type cmd then right-click on the result and click Run as administrator. In the CMD window type or copy-paste
- Code: Select all
bcdedit /set testsigning on
and press enter. Restart PC.
You should see a watermark on your desktop.
Sign the driver
https://www.ngohq.com/driver-signature- ... rider.htmlSign a System File
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\secdrv.sys
Only use the driver signing option not the other ones Vertify/start the Safedisc driver:
sc start secdrv you should either get information about it or a message that it is already running.
https://i.ibb.co/C6Bq4wC/Uten-navn.jpgsc qc secdrv should bring up this
Mount to physical drive (SCSI) also work with the image provided here. DT lite 10.14. The virtual IDE drive method also work, needs to be IDE, it wont accept a normal DT drive. I dont believe Safedisc has a grace period which some DRMS at least have.
So the actual challenge is getting Windows to behave and do what you want.
The file should say NGO if you got the driver signature bit working
https://i.ibb.co/bb3L2Sd/Uten-navn.jpgNo sound and some control issues caused by the framerate and the VM/recording. Not that it really proves anything. Physical drive/disc mounted in Vmware.
https://youtu.be/dzOxoQc5lngSdloader as mentioned on the previous page is not really required.
UPDATE
Instructions above also work on Windows 7, confirmed just now.
