hi again guys...

got Fur Fighters (Full Demo ~177Mb (upped by Scaryfun)), followed the instructions and tried to start da game...
(i'm again running the game under win98se and directx 9c...)
all to no avail...
rebooted my pc...
same msg ...

this is the complete error msg:

Fatal Error

Can't create DDraw during enumeration!

may that be a dx9c-prob?

DDraw definately got something to do with DirectX. Perhaps this older game expects an older version of DirectX, and DirectX 9 isn't too backwards compatible that it sees this...

Only thing I'd try is installing the DirectX that was released around that time period, perhaps it helps. If so, you could perhaps just copy those DX dlls to your game folder, install DX9 again & see if the game still works.

yeah, i guessed that .....

maybe i'm tryin' to install that stuff (dx7 & da game) on my 2nd pc...that one is faaaaar back in time 98se on a AMD 1600+ ...

i'll post any experiences

Nothing really.
AMD64 3000 Geo fx 5200 512mb win xp corp
As you can see, nothing special but the game works fine.
