how to get the following games to work

Postby vintagecdromgirl » Sat Jun 26, 2021 11:15 am

um, has anyone ever managed to get the following games to work successfully without a message saying that the CD needs to be inserted? (it always happens, even if you burn the image to a CD after installing the game :x :? )
Blue's Clues: Blue Takes You to School

I did find a way to get Dora the Explorer: Animal Adventures to work, thanks to the "cracked" game exe...wish me luck on this lol

Blue's Clues: Blue Takes You to School

The game is actually securom protected. No luck with the generic Securom Loader either.

When I tried it with alcoholsoft the game didnt load after showing accessing the CD icon. To my knowledge Securom requires an MDF/MDS file with the required DPM data to work.

Success:

Got it working in Windows XP when I mounted the game in Alcholsoft 120% Free Edition under XP (VM) and used the below crack.

https://i.ibb.co/9vpQHLJ/Uten-navn.jpg

It needs both the image mounted and the crack to work properly.

This game also worked here... just get the game , install it , copy the crack and have the CD in the fist drive letter after C: aka "D:" ... since back in the day, games where programmed for PCs to have only 1 CD\DVD drive and 1 HDD , and if the game suddenly sees two HDDs\Media Drive many games just freak out and will not boot at all

All games behaved like that till 2006-2008 when Vista came ... same can be said about Multi Core PCs , HDD Space and Ram... till 2010-ish games freaked out if you had too much Free Space (like 900GB since normally you should have only 1GB) , 16GB of ram when PCs back then only had 2GB or Max 4GB , and 24 Cores (or more like todays pcs now have) when normal home Pentium 4 had only 2 or 1 cores .... there is also the GPU ram (its 8\16bit texture support that new cards dropped and now your forced to emulate those features with wrappers) and CPU speed factor

and on top of that you add Drivers , Quick Time , Flash support that new OS dropped hard

and you get why some people are overwhelmed with it and just take the easy way and buy a GOG version ... that just uses Dosbox with Wrappers that you can get for free ...

You could try with the generic loader, or does that only work with newer titles?
