Thinking of connecting a big external HDD and downloading my entire steam library to it including DLC. What is the best way to do this?

Steam itself says 1764 in uncatgorized...

To indicate the drive where you want to install games:
Steam > Settings > Downloads > Steam Library folder

Then shift-click the first game on games list and the last game on that list to select all the games. Right click and select "Install".

The above solution seems to crash the client I don't think waiting is gonna fix it.

Dang, try doing it in chunks of 50 games at a time maybe... or whatever amount doesn't make it crash.
