Did you extract Opposing Force into the subdirectory: HalfLife/gearbox ?

DJ Speedstar wrote this about a month ago in the old forum and it worked -

1. get full opposing force from 3d shooter legends
2. copy all files to gearbox (not like they said, to force) dir in half life
3. run ym666fix.bat, click enter 2 times, in KeyGen click generate, copy generated key to Enter CD Key, click ok, run opfix.reg
4. from half life dir, run opforup.exe (if u have that v1.1.1.0 patch installed), show half life dir
5. there r 3 ways to start opposing force
a ) do *.bat file in half life dir with line hf -game gearbox, and start game from this file
b ) start game with parametrs hf -game gearbox
c ) start normally half life, go to custom games in menu, choose opposing force, click active, go back to menu and click new game
