Postby hurenBock » Tue Jan 24, 2006 11:55 pm

hi

i downloaded that game and want to play it but it doesnt seem to run
under winXP always when i want to choose a fighter the game crashes back to desktop

i also downloaded the mortal kombat winXP patch but it still wont run

is there something like a win98 emulator or something like this ? because i cant get it to run with VDM`s too

 i`ll get a gamepad next weeks so it would be nice i love this game so much !!

i believe i`ll install win95 too on my HD but hey i heard 2 windows on the same HD isnt good or doesnt works is that right?

not necessarily true. You'll have to have your partitions formatted to FAT32 if you want to use Win95C-Win98-Win98se-WinME, however if you're going to use Win95-Win95B you can only use Fat16 (also, win2k/winxp does not support fat16)

I have no problem running a Win98se/Win2000 dualboot. I believe you can install them at any order.

And finally, Geforce cards with the newer drivers aren't very compatible with any VGA support. It's hard to even play dos games on win98se with a geforce2 as it'll freeze up a black screen. It sometimes does this for text modes as well, so if you get a BSOD, it'll blackscreen you instead.

do the same like i did , make two partitions one Fat32 the other NTFS ,
first install win 98 , THEN win xp or 2000 , restart your comp and you will see now a boot menu with two os one win 98 and the other win xp , well you will see a info like this : 1. Miro$oft windows 2.Miro$oft windows :P , this one can be changed in your win xp that you will know wich win is the right one ,

Code: Select all
And finally, Geforce cards with the newer drivers aren't very compatible with any VGA support. It's hard to even play dos games on win98se with a geforce2 as it'll freeze up a black screen. It sometimes does this for text modes as well, so if you get a BSOD, it'll blackscreen you instead.

what i have a fx 5200 and it never crashed , even on my old comp with gf2 ,
must be your config becoz i didn`t had any errors with playing old games

edit: o yeah now i remember , after you install win98 , install too Norton Comander the dos version and make it to run before win98 , well its a trick to run reall old dos games becoz some games where picky on win98 and they dos drivers
