Kingpin rip...Problems with file type.

Postby Kranholio » Thu Feb 02, 2006 12:35 pm

Hey to everyone, my first post :P

Anyways, I downloaded a rip of Kingpin a couple of days ago and I had to download several .rar files, although they were called .r01 right through to .r26. Anywho in these .rar files there are other files with a file type of .3dsl. I know that 3dsl is an abbreviation of the 3d Shooter Legends website, but the files are called things like root.3dsl, snd.3dsl pak.3dslmmisc.3dsl and to be honest I've never heard of an extension with .3dsl so I don't know what program to open them with. I tried WinRAR but that didn't work.

So could someone please help out a hopeless nerd and steer him in the right direction.

Thanks a bunch.

there is a file called setup.bat (maybe only "setup" is shown on your system).
simply run this.

in very few cases the file may be called unpack.bat or similar......

...just do what the nfo says:

Code: Select all
hit unpack.exe to decompress the game files to your hdd....

And those .r23 .r24 etc files are just parts of that multi volume rar archive anyway. Doesn't make any difference if they're called part24.rar etc.
Just open the file called *.rar with WinRAR to unpack the files inside to the directory you want.

Well again.. just do what's in the nfo and everything's fine

/EDIT:
Whoops -- loki was faster :P
