Question about registry keys.

Postby Virgil » Thu May 04, 2006 8:42 pm

I tried to install Close Combat(ISO), but installer says, what he won't work under this version of Windows(XP sp1), even in compatibility mode. So, I looked through installation files and find those strings.
Code: Select all
AddRegData   """HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"",""Software\Microsoft\Games\Close Combat"", ""Version"", ""1.0"", """""
82   yes         AddRegData   """HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"",""Software\Microsoft\Games\Close Combat"", ""InstalledTo"", ""%s"", """""     %D
83   yes         AddRegData   """HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"",""Software\Microsoft\Games\Close Combat"", ""InstalledFrom"", ""%s"", """""   %S
84   yes         AddRegData   """HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT"",""Close Combat"", """", """"""%s\cc.exe,0"""""", """""      %36
85   yes         CustomAction   """cc.dll"",""WriteProdInfo"",""SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Games\Close Combat"""
86   yes         AddRegData   """HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"",""Software\Microsoft\Games\Close Combat"","""","""","""""

I presume, what first two strings creates new section - Software\Microsoft\Games\Close Combat and there creates string keys InstalledTo and InstalledFrom with path value. But what others do?

I don't know, what do you think about this:

þ TNT News þ

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 0Day
Applications News:
Win 98/98SE/ME are supported Operating Systems for 99% of all software. If your retarded group is either unwilling or more likely unable to properly produce a working release for all of the OS's that the application itself supports, then prepare to get PROPERED.
You idiots need to learn what the scene is all about. We will teach you...
Of course we are not idiots, but is this message important for us???? what do you think about this???
