Gothic 2

I'm having a problem getting Gothic 2 to run. I uncompressed everything (at least I think I did) and then ran the bat file and it changes a few files but then the game won't start. i thought the bat file was supposed to start the game. What am I doing wrong guys?

i seem to have the same poblem, it unpacked ok but will not run.
