Omikron: The Nomad Soul

Postby ruiya75 » Fri Dec 10, 2004 6:06 am

I downloaded Omikron: The Nomad Soul. It worked fine. There are some music aces which extracts one music.dat file. My question is where to place the music.dat file - at root or in some other directory?
Please help.
Thanks for the beautiful work you are doing for ages.

Do a search for the music.dat wherever you already have the game installed (i.e. C:/Nomad).

There will be a music.dat file there; it'll just be like a 2kb size file. It's a dummy file. Overwrite that dummy file with the larger, real music.dat file from the music addon. Simple as that.

This will work for whatever addons for whatever games. The music addon will be replacing a dummy file with the same name.

Well, unless the file format has been changed to decrease file size. In that case an installer is usually included.

That'd be my guess anyway. :D

Peace!

I know the logic but the problem is, there is no 'music.dat' dummy file which I can replace. I placed the file in root but nothing happened. The included nfo does not contain any information for music. I think only the uploader 'Scaryfun' can answer.
Thanks for your co operation.

Heheh, the files are for music of the installer from Divine rip group....not from the actual game as all the game music was ripped out.
So just extract the installer-music files to same directory as you have the rip files and when you use Divine installer, there will be nice music while your files extract. :P
I'll modify the Readme.txt to indicate this.

Ohh! I have never seen such a big installer music file (normally they are a few kb mid files). Ok I am going to delete the music files as I don't use the installer. Thanks for your clarification.

When playing the game, I can't hear anything, not even sfx. Were all music and sound fx ripped or does anyone know how to enable them?
(the nfo states music is ripped, but says nothing about sound).

Thx!

Is there any *.bat file or executable that isn't used for playing? If so try clicking that one ;)
