Since there are so many titles to choose from on this site could there be an area for both shooter and adventure recommending the highest rated and most popular titles. It would be good for people who don't know about certain games and would discover something they may not have chosen.

I'll try and add a similar Year Summary at top of each year page for Adventures. We thought about putting some sort of rating on each game entry. I think once I get through the rest of 3dsl titles still to be added sometime this year, I'll have time to do the extra things on the site like this.

Is there a way to automatically add the metacritic score to the more mainstream titles? Doing it completely manual would be insanity

Probably...would have to extract database list of titles from their site and the corresponding scores then can add them as new field somehow. They do have lists by genres like for FPS - http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/ ... -person/pc
