I think it's handy to make a new link type to e2k/torrent links.. what do you think? :woot:

Sounds good, it'll attract a wider range of audiences. Which I'm guessing is a good idea.

I was thinking of this before...
For brand new games, people should know that they will be on popular sites like www.suprnova.org or can be found simply by doing an edonkey search so it would be redundant work to put links to them here.

However, for older games which are harder to find, it would be nice to have links for them. BitTorrents are faster but die quickly after a week so posting them and taking them off each week on the 3dsl website may be too time-consuming. Maybe a separate forum here where members could post links they find is a better idea?

eDonkey files live much longer but take longer to get.
I don't know if posting them on the 3dsl website will give us unwanted attention. Maybe it's better to post them only here in the forum too?

I think that a section in the forum would be better. It would mean less publicity though, due to the way that forums seem to be pushed back on some search engines... Or I'm paranoid. Or stoned. Or something.

Yeah! The briefcases are fine...
I think a problem with these filesharing apps is that some ppl are collecting IPs (as I heared).. I wouldn't like it at all to see my IP on such a list

And again: Go briefcase

Don't worry, the briefcase uploads won't disappear. The eDonkey/BitTorrent links would just be additional venues for getting ISOs especially because of their large size.

For their decent size I like rips with all (!) addons more
It may take longer to extract but I can get up to 7 complete (but older) games on one CD ... if newer games with movies, maybe 2 or 3 instead of 2CDs each.

First thing's first, I'd like to say a big Hi 2 ya' all (Just registred a minute ago)!
:hi: :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi:
Seconde thing, is : The ed2k links idea is fine but the torrent idea is bad  ,
le' me explain y, first thing this site won't be atrracted buy usuall visitors, but
mostlly by leechers, they will only dwl the torrent from a knonw web site (such
as <a href='http://www.suprnova.org' target='_blank'>www.Suprnova.org</a>), and maybe only 10% out of this leechers will come
to look in to this site to leech more games, wich is bad.

I suggest to share torrents only to active forum memmbers, and build a sort of
anti leech technic (So torrents won't become dead after a while, or be seeded by
one man/human.), I saw a such technic ova' this site :
<a href='http://empornium.us/' target='_blank'>http://empornium.us/</a> :)

BTW,
1) in case some1 want's it, I got a rarre UNREAL (GT Interactive) Alpha
release. and some other old games (Such as NUDE RiDER :D ).
PM if u want me 2 upload it ;)
2) This forum's designe is ultra c3wl! well done guys!

Well... I think torrent is a bad idea but also for the forum members. Free webspace is accesable 24/7 but not everyone's pc (for torrent).
Speed couldn't even increase 'cause most free space gives you ~90k down.
And doney-links are even worse! I (for example) am not using any filesharing apps... as said in another thread: I got my own reasons for that..
But I'm not just a leecher, I try to share things in another way (-> free space) as good as possible!

Oh man... written some dumb shit, sorry for that ;)

Ok you're all right, torrent trackers can go down and will never come again... ed2k links will stay alive until there arent any more users with it to share... Torrent can stay in the forum... But ed2k links for on the page isn't a bad idea though?

Maybe it's a good idea... but only for you "filesharers".
I think here are a lot of ppl (maybe not regged at the forum but surfing the site) who are happy 'bout the briefcases... And I'm one of them! God, I love it!

So what about the non-filesharers? Anyone thought of them? Not everyone is even able to download @ the donkey 'cause he might have a smaller upload or something....

But I repeat myself...

PS: But as an alternative, why not? But only if anything is also available on briefcases, even if a few days later.
