Not sure the source of that patch on myabandonware, the archived webpage of the games, has a patch for each individual language and they do seem to vary slightly.

Troubleshooting

Did figure out a way to play the game now. Mounting the game to a physical drive and it bypasses the protection on the original exe. As soon as i try to apply even the offical patch the game start crashing again. So it is possible my PC dont like the changes made in v1.01.

With a default installation and no patches the game works with image emulation for me. So consider the issue solved on my end.

Level 8 is also beatable with this method. So those supposed anti piracy measures didn't take effect. Well it is image emulation, but that is not always predictable...


It is a mostly a legacy option that no sane person would use..
