Postby starlord » Sat Oct 18, 2008 8:58 am

Hello 3dsl, I'm simply curious:

Has my russian only found game "homeplanet gold" been uploaded on your site?

Best regards.

mike.

You could search by yourself, but the answer is no.

Trey said something like "it sounds interesting", but Trey is a member of 3DSL, not 3DSL.
As for your game, it looks like Homeworld to me, so I won't add it to 3DSL. If someone wants your game he can ask in your thread, no need to upload for the moment.

It is certainly NOT homeworld:
It's a very rare space sim (russian only as long as that english patch that's being working on is not released) made in 2001 that I had all the possible difficulties getting and preserving (common word here is that it was discontinued).

I think that rarity alone makes this game interesting, and with 3dsl, I believe it would be truly preserved.

Also, you might wish to know that the game was made using the same engine as the babylon 5 i've found her engine. The game has a comprehensive scenario, uses neutonian physics, and comes along with it's add on playing with fire.

I would really be reassured to see it preserved.

For some reason, I also got it confused with Homeworld.
There are some serious collectors here who would preserve your game for you if you want to reup it.

starlord, I ran into an old pm of yours regarding this game while cleaning out my stored pm's.
As we didn't have space shooting sims at the time you suggested, and now we do, i can add an entry for it now. I found a torrent 1.29GB of Russian 2CD release that also has Babylon 5 I've Found Her which uses same engine i gather. Is it ok for me to upload it or do you want to do it? Also, do you know if an English translation has been done?

No no go on. That's the version i have. Also I'm in contact with a homeplanet gold develloper and he's preparing something to try and localise homeplanet and it's add on.
