Opinions on Bioshock Infinite?

Postby Trey » Sun Apr 14, 2013 7:36 pm

I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread on this yet. Just finished it myself, tell me what you think.

simple story made convoluted with plot holes of the size of grand cannon
and the game we play now is not the original vision all thanks to fudge consoles and they ram for maps and the size of DVD9 that's on xbox360 only 6,5gig [minus system updates and drm] and Licensing fee for one Disc , guess PC games bitched loud enough so now Ps4 Orbis/ Xbox 4 Durgano has 8gig of it and they will use BD  ... same could have been said about a game named RAGE

So what was cut :
story decisions and endings [in the beginning there are two story decisions but they do NOTHING]
sub quests [the only evidence of more advanced sub plot missions are the Vox about a serial killer and the Hunter investigation]
NPC dynamic AI that acted on your actions
the whole SONGBIRD PLOT WAS CUT AWAY
Ai use of special tonic powers
Tonics where a Item not a power

the things that stayed created this plot hole ridden story line that was glued together with what ... the only saving grace trick there is trans dimensional time travel :x

Here you go 15 minutes of the original Bioshock Infinite before console cancer f.u.c.ke.d this game over
Code: Select all

it is a sub par game : YES

but its so over hyped right now with how much money they lost on it right now [200MLN $] all thanks to CONSOLES and they retarded limitations ... it was said they cut so much it could have made six games
Code: Select all
BioShock Infinite goes gold, Irrational says it cut enough content to “make five or six games”

so take a ride on the sequel train ... welcome to the fantastic world of Final Fantasy XIII , they did the same, cut so much content from it they could have made 4 games.... oh wait Final Fantasy XIII-2 WTf??? a year later Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII -3

Of course its a subpar (read dumbed down) game, you don't want all the casual (American) gamers getting confused/frustrated, do you?

Edit: I haven't played much of it because it keeps crashing, it's fun but don't expect it to challenge your brain in any way, shape, or form. It's probably a coincidence, but it started crashing a lot after I turned off Ambient Occlusion.

its crashing because the PC PORT {thats right ITS A PORT} has broken texture streaming pool that should flush like in does on consoles after a new map loads but not on PC all map data stays in memory making this game crash when your ram has no more room for new data [or in systems will lots of ram it will lag like crazy]

Hmm, I'd still rather play this then yet another Call of Duty, Battlefield, Borderlands, Farcry, etc. Even if the game play is lacking, and the story's been shaved down, it's still a feast for the eyes and ears. Even with the Unreal 3 engine, the world design is amazing. I spent a lot of the time just sightseeing and gawking. I think this was really pushing the boundries of what that Unreal engine was capable of doing. I wonder how much of the 'original' game version was finished?

in a interview he said the whole game was ready in 2012 but none of the next gen consoles we have now could run it ... :x
so in 1 year they had to cut content OUT to fit it for console standards and rewrite the story

Same was made with RAGE ... one gigantic desert became corridors of small streaming maps and again a totally playable game was delayed because consoles sell more game units :x
