Scrapland MercurySteam Entertainment / Enlight Software 2004

Grand Theft Auto with robots would seem to be the most apt description upon the first impression of Scrapland, that was only produced by American McGee. Featuring a seemingly open-ended gameplay structure, a noirish murder mystery, a goofy sense of humor, and a huge city to explore, Scrapland would seem to have all the makings of a futuristic adventure of epic proportions. The plot takes us to the distant future. D-Titus Debris, the main character of the game, decides to give up wandering around the Universe and look for some common job at last. According to his brand new plans, he's heading to Chimera city - the capital of Scrapland. But right after he becomes a mere reporter there, his life turns into a raging vortex of unexpected events and dangerous encounters. He is into something that not everyone can easily deal with. D-Titus is going to investigate a chain of mysterious murders. The enormous megapolis is at your full disposal. Any central street and any distant corner of Chimera are free to explore by foot or driving a gunship. You can modify your transport the way you want, equipping it with deadly weapons, mounting powerful engines and almost impenetrable armor. D-Titus himself possesses the ability of transforming into 15 different types of automatons, each with his unique skills. No one forbids you to take missions from criminals, but it will naturally draw attention of the police to your illegal deeds. So beware! Breathtaking multiplayer battles including Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and other fascinating modes are available. The main visual feature of the game is the astonishing cartoon graphics and animation. Implementing latest graphical technologies, 'Scrapland' delivers a unique visual experience and will guide you into a world of science fiction and sparkling humor. In Dec/2021, Scrapland Remastered was released that was improved with high-resolution modes, dedicated servers and revised network code, full gamepad support, in-game improvements, achievements and Steam Cloud support.
