Fixed: Mission objectives now work; Proper subtitles; Complete English cinematics; Enemy chatter is a bit of a mix, didnt want to delete the original russian file where I couldnt find a replacement; The game will work with extracted .pak files, so I gave up trying to pack it again.
It seems like the audio might be a bit low for some of the files. You need Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). How to do it (I did it on Windows XP): Open Audacity. Drag all the OGG files whose volume you want to change, on to the Audacity window. Audacity will open each file in a separate track (you can actually play them all together). Press to make sure you selected all tracks. Go to the menu Effect/Amplify and choose how much you want to amplify the sounds. If the "OK" button gets disabled, then you must tick the option to allow clipping (some points with distortion). Press the Preview button to preview and make sure there's not too much clipping (or any at all). If it's just a notification sound, not a big deal. Happy? Press OK to accept the amplification. Un-select the tracks (click somewhere else with the mouse cursor or press . With the cursor, select all the track of only one track (sorry - I didn't find a key combination for this). Menu File / Export Selection (Export multiple), and choose OGG format. Repair for each one of the tracks. |
