Re: Smarty/Zero Zero
Here's the official mirror - please ready HTTrack or something for offline version mirroring, then pray the actual assets loadhttps://sites.rhizome.org/theresa-duncan-cdroms/

Re: Smarty/Zero Zero
It works (of sorts, I wasn't able to wait until it loads).
Are you sure it can be mirrored, @annoyment?

Re: Smarty/Zero Zero
That's why I said to wait and pray and hope, IMO it's too niche for it to justify its long-lasting hosting (thus the HTTrack mention, with maybe checking if stuff actually loads with F11 inspector or Nmap + anything else, dunno)Smiling Spectre wrote:Are you sure it can be mirrored?

Re: Smarty/Zero Zero
They ran a successful Kickstarter to raise funds to keep these works online. So, if they no longer work then they are not honoring their supporters.

Re: Smarty/Zero Zero
It pulls the files needed to run them from a remote server and at the same spins up a virtual machine to run them. It could be that the server(s) that host those three games are overwhelmed with other requests for other things, i.e.; these have a lower priority than other things. I tested for about 5 minutes on one of the games on a connection that should be more than sufficient for it, but no dice.

Re: Smarty/Zero Zero
In my case the EU servers work, and the site loads a System 7.5.5 VM with CD-images mounted on autoplay (Chop Suey is Mac-only, while the requested titles are hybrids) - unfortunately the Firefox inspector didn't give me anything of worth, so I don't even know what is actually saved locally (hoping it ain't video though), not to mention not knowing Macs as good to begin with
So, uh, once again, best of luck to whoever managing to snag 'em (maybe bumping exoscoriae or other preservationists) - even if having to copy/paste every file visually into hex

Re: Smarty/Zero Zero
These appears to be macintosh versions that are loading via a mac emulator.
So even if I am able to grab the images, it appears unlikely I can use them? I'll see what I can dig up on it.
