Ring: Legend of the Nibelungen Sound Issue  Topic is solved

Post by rad1caldave »

Hello out there in adventure legends. I am having a problem with the sound for the game Ring: Legend of the Nibelungen (PC 1998 4CD Ver.) Anytime there is speech it starts off fine but after about 2 seconds it stops. Other times during long conversations the speech stutters and stops and also overlaps other dialogue. Besides this problem the game runs fine. I am running Win. XP sp2 w/ pentium 4 and an ati radeon 9600 pro. I had the same problem with Faust. I am hoping there is a solution but I have a feeling its the os. Please help, thanks.

Reduce hardware sound acceleration to basic level (windows control panel). All Arxel Tribe's games are need that, include Faust...

i marked this as solved because i had to do that on Winxp to have normal sound... Vista and Win7 are in the crapper because they can't disable sound acceleration :( if i find i will post a link for a win7 patch that some fan made

Thank you so much! Reducing the acceleration did the trick. Unfortunately, I could not play for long because a family member accidentally deleted the userinit.exe file from windows with some generic malware remover. But it comforts me to know I have a classic adventure game waiting for me. Thanks again!
