DOOM Engine used CD Audio. Hexen is evidence for it. Quake II as well.

But... Doom was released first on floppy... no CD audio tracks on a floppy...

The OP asked for Engine capabilities. If you focused on that, you'd know the answer.

true that doom was released first on floppy, but if it had later been released on cd with cda tracks, i would have put a yes on this engine
but if i recall correctly no version of doom supported cda tracks

however i am unsure if strife, or heretic used cda

*edit* i now know hexen does

Jedi Knight (Dark Force II) uses the Jedi engine and its sounds don´t work without CDA tracks. So yes for Jedi Engine

Another classic FPS engine you have omitted, Unreal Engine uses CD audio as well. Klingon Honor Guard, Adventure Pinball and many other titles serve as evidence.

So the music addons for rips of Unreal engine games use music extracted from the CDA tracks?

Oh and, about audio of DOOM, this awful clone has CDA tracks: http://www.legendsworld.net/shooter/game/1474

No. They are for games that use other formats natively, such as umx, ogg or mp3. Music addons for rips of CDA-using Unreal Engine games don't exist.

Josephine is a DOOM clone but is not on DOOM engine AFAIK.
