slave Zero 32 bit color problem

Damn, I've started to play this old game and... game doesn't select 32 color. :? It reverts to 16 bit always. :x Tried different resolutions but no go.
But I bet nobody remembers this cool game... :(

I have XP SP2 with all updates (autoupdate is on), GeForce Asus 8800GTX. I guess, thats where my problem lies. :)
