Can't get Sniper Path of Vengeance to work

Post by level1900 »

I downloaded no problem, unpacked and installed no problem, but when I start the game the process dies instantly. I installed the newest patch I could find and the game starts, plays the intro movies and dies with the message "Error copying file cshell.dll".

Le-sigh :(

I found this reply to the same problem at some German forum:

try in the command line to start to enter

lithtech.exe-rez. rez-engine.rez ScreenWidth + 1024 + screenheight 768 + bitdepth 32 + MaxTextureSize 512 * 512

I found the very same post on the same german forum, but it won't work for me. I can't add that line in the filename either (which worked for some games) because windows won't accept * in the filename.

Maybe try it without the final addition, like this:

lithtech.exe-rez. rez-engine.rez ScreenWidth + 1024 + screenheight 768 + bitdepth 32

Rip or iso? If rip - get iso, if iso - use batch file.

It's ISO and I had the same problem with another ISO I dowloaded from p2p last year. What batch are you referring to? One in the game folder?

I have been researching the error, so here is what I think you need to do:

Browse to the game directory on your hard drive and then delete the REZ file(s) (files with the extensin .REZ). Mount the game image and copy the REZ file(s) from the disc (probably in a data folder) to the game directory on the hard drive. This should *hopefully* fix the problem.

All Litech engines for windows (all those I remember right now) have an exclusive part in the configuration to add command line options without doing it as any other windows program. In the advanced config (I believe, can't remember right now) is an option that says enable command line options. That has to be enabled and then in the box below should be wroten the command line options so the game can use them.
