FreeRapid Downloader 0.9

We are back and after two beta versions we release a stable final version.

After in-depth consideration, all non-updated translations were enabled, bringing the total number of supported languages to 31. Missing strings will appear in English. Updates to translations are warmly welcome, as usual.
Removed global simultaneous downloads limit
Support for zooming captcha image (enable in preferences dialog)
Internal file list and download history storage backend changed to a much more robust database system. This should provide performance improvements for large lists, and the list should not be lost anymore in case of improper shutdown. Note that older versions of FRD will not be able to read the new format.
Downloaded files can be renamed within FRD
Several translations were updated - thanks to all translators!

To make program portable, before first run edit startup.properties file to have

I recommend to have this inserted to the same file:

Yes, I do think like I wrote, and I can assure you, your reply really was uncalled for. Regrettably, you took my comment for an attack on your activity and retaliated, targeting mine. That was not my intention when I posted. I intervened your series of changelog posts as a result of application of several principles among the ones I follow:
- "It's better than nothing" is not a universal defense;
- Never repost without commentary;
- If no one shouts "The King is naked!", sometimes you have to do it, even expecting public indignation;
- If someone genuinely acts in vain or is under delusion, consider telling it to him;
- Don't be afraid to express your opinion on issues that matter to you, otherwise things may never change.

Since I was pretty much the only one who replied to changelogs, I hoped you would pay some more attention to my remarks and properly analyze their motives. Consensual "Don't like - don't read" (or even "You are no better!") approach was unexpected.

In my mind changelogs for a program is something too technical and internal, mostly pertinent only to the program itself. There is no need for downloader programs changelogs on the gaming site. Same for imaging, burning, emulating, multimedia files playing, etc. software changelogs.

What we may need is specific news bit regarding the use of software in question for our common or special tasks. That's where forums shine - because of unique user contributions. Thus I make difference between copypaste and an original material. Latter type of posts is what keeps a forum alive.

People who don't have it might want to know what new features it has. Plus, people get files from other hosts...not only 4shared.

Most was explained above. I just don't find reasonable to dump various info relying on the fact that someone might find it useful. And of course, I didn't mention other plugins not to keep it a secret but understanding the huge importance of 4shared to us. To reiterate the worth of original research, I have to note that FRD changelogs don't carry any news on FHS support.

Both our posts are of informative value, regardless if it's "copy-paste" or "original research". For some this information is useful, for others not (as is the case with all posts). That's the way it is and I don't see the need to bring this up for discussion.

There is no need for downloader programs changelogs on the gaming site. Same for imaging, burning, emulating, multimedia files playing, etc. software changelogs.

Most forums have different sections for different topics and LegendsWorld is no exception. Keep in mind that this is not the site but the "General Topics" sub-forum, where we discuss and post information about various things, not only games. That includes software, changelogs and technical things. Besides, who are you to tell what is needed here or not?

I have an impression that you are not willing to look into my arguments from a neutral POV, failing to differentiate original or commented content (requires some work) from a copy of general instruction.

Post #3 was the only post in this thread that actually tried to apply information about FRD to our needs (mostly downloading from 4shared) and triggered a valid response as a proof of interest.

I mentioned portability here, so had to show how it can be done. Also added some personal tips and tricks.

I was just trying to hint you as to which information may be more valuable and which is probably excessive, from my viewpoint. But you exploded instead of just telling me that others may think differently or, better, polling people about the case.
