Congratulations for Anniversary!!

Post by Daniel_Uruguay »

It is with great pleasure that I congratulate Sandon and Scaryfun on this special anniversary of 3D Shooter Legends.
On behalf of both, I congratulate everyone who in one way or another has helped 3D Legends be what it is.
I started following this site a little less than 1 year ago, and since then it has been an irreplaceable source of both games and information.
Many have been the ones who have helped me when I have had some difficulty.
To all, my recognition and my big hug!!

That is not how math works... I'm 30 years old, I wouldn't called that a teenager.
30-8=22.

I grew up well alongside the site, though I haven't gotten work on it till last year. To me there is still lots and lots of games on digital platforms that have yet to receive a page, as well as some new ones from time to time. Still focusing on the 2010s since that's the decade where I grew up on a lot of digital titles on as well as whatever VN I could find on Archive.

Rofferu, as I said before I am 66 years old and I started working on mainframes in 1974 (NCR Century 100) with punched cards, magnetic tapes and those huge disks that could hold up to 8192 KB (the word MB did not exist at that time).
At that time games didn't exist, after all the processing time was very expensive.
After that, if I remember correctly, came CP/M and at the end of the line, DOS, and THEN YES, we were able to start playing!!!!!!!!!!
The evolution of games since that time, many of them made in pure and simple ASCII was HUGE!!
But of course, back then you had really cool games for less than 50KB; today a "small" game doesn't take up less than 10MB, some reaching several TB!!
Even today I have difficulty understanding platforms like Steam, after all I don't like to play online and I prefer to download games to my PC and play them quietly.
Anyway, sorry for the nostalgic moment of an old man in love with games.
Big hug, my friend!!

Hello, limebite!
What I tried to say is that nobody goes "unpunished" through this life without writing their own story, with some funny chapters, others not so much, but even so, this is how we leave our footprints.
And it is at these footprints that those who come later will look, even without knowing who they belonged to, but they will know that someone walked this path.
What I mean is, until today I didn't know about Sandon's existence, but his footprints are right here!!
Just like many years from now someone will hear about Scaryfun and so many others who strive to keep the site alive and up to date!
This is why this anniversary should be celebrated with such enthusiasm!
Once again, congratulations to EVERYONE involved in this project!!
Great hug to you too, my friend!

:thanks: for the kind words. All of us who contributed to finding and preserving these games are proud of all the obscure titles that have been saved from disappearing. I have seen many rare titles that were first made available here are now spread to other sites and archived for future generations.

In fact I've found loads of games here that I've been looking for years and couldn't find anywhere!!
So our thanks, not only for making these games available, but mainly for the time invested in searching, checking for viruses, checking functionality, uploading, creating the page, etc.
It's a lot of work that may go unnoticed for some, but it's ALL TRUELY IMPORTANT!
For all that, once again, our THANK YOU ALL!!
:thanks:

and it all started in 1958 ... when a bored technician created "Tennis for Two" to pass the time ... so you can say, you where born at the right time frame ... since the electronic games concept is 64 years old :P

Yeah, @hfric!!
We can say that I saw the world of games born and followed its growth until today, as well as many other players around the world.
And I can tell you how scary it is when you start to think about it.
Imagine that at that time, with a couple of KB, you could make really fun games (for the time), often without any graphic type (in pure ASCIII!!), without any kind of hardware requirement (just a keyboard and a CGA monitor).
I still remember the green phosphor monitors, then the amber one, which hurt the eyes (LOL) and the white phosphor monitors (that if left too long on a single screen, "burned" the monitor and left the image printed!!).
And so we go, my friend!
We keep moving forward, but technology runs at a much faster speed than we do!
