4 Shared had gotten much worse

$shared has gotten so bad that I had to get a premium account to even download anymore. Everytime the timer ran out I clicked to download and the timer restarted. They must be really desparate.

I think this was due to Old_Schooler using one account for so many uploads as I was getting message too many contiguous downloads in progress over and over as well. When I tried during late night and it worked.

Heh. I got same message on one file of an upload of Egon68's so I guess they do limit how many people get files from one account. That sucks. However, in this case it cleared on the next download try and other files were downloaded all in a row.

Sorry again, I can't get your problems...
For me the only annoying thing for 4s is the first 6.5min delay for each file (but I don't care - no pain, no gain!).
My rule: I use any IP for clicking and another one for unlimited downloading.

Mediafire and 4shared are the best, 4shared it's still very good no matter the 6:30 waiting, this is nothing compared with other hosts like hotfile or fileserve or filesonic. and Megaupload is becoming slow and more slow.

Now the delay is 590 seconds!!!! almost 10 minutes
Every day more and more worse 4shared. It will come the day when the waiting will be 15 or 20 minutes.

i use Megaupload they don't <i>fudge</i> around and all my contend is still there even after 5 months

True, to download a file of that size one needs an account now. A 100.000.000 bytes file can still be downloaded without an account.

Well, maybe this should be mentioned on the FAQ page. I'm not going to re-upload everything again, sorry.

EDIT:

I have noticed something else. Some files appear offline (the requested link is not valid), but after refreshing the page one or two times the file can be downloaded. The 4shared pages also load very slow at times.

Yeah, they're probably getting swamped with former megaupload users. I was upping yesterday and and sometimes it would flake out and doesn't give the pop-up when it's complete. I just checked my network activity to see when it stopped or click the My4shared directory then the folder and file will show there if it's done. Then I have to refresh page to see the upload files area again.

@Meddle...even though it doesn't allow on jdownloader, I could still download the files by hand.

Wow also first time now when I click download on 4shared it now gives a popup message "Copying a file without the owner's authorization is a copyright violation and may trigger civil and criminal liability. Proceed to download?" ....to avoid FBI prosecution I guess.

Now when you download you get a warning that if you are not the original author you can be charged with various civil and criminal charges. After that notice it asked you if you want to proceed. I guess they got scared because of what happened to Megaupload.
