Gigglebone Gang, The: Alphabonk Farm Headbone Interactive 1994

This is a rare children's game that features some segments involving exploration in a storybook style similar to "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." It's the first in the GiggleBone Gang CD-ROM series and provides more than 35 hours of playtime for children ages four and up. The product - which includes not only a CD-ROM but a book of poetry as well as a colorful poster suitable for hanging in playrooms or bedrooms - opens to an off-beat world of friendly animals and farmyard pranks. The company used original photography, illustration and music in its first title, aiming to engage the child and interest them in language development, problem solving and decision making skills. It's comprised of six topical areas, hosted by four main characters. The Barnyard friends -- Bunji the Frog, Clyde the Parrot, Svelte Velma the Swine and Farmer Alfred A. Bonk, deliver poems, true stories, games, activities and Fun Farm Facts which are meant to attract the child repeatedly. Additional features and benefits of the product include more than 90 activity screens, over 350 audible call-out words and 26 alliterative rhymes, hundreds of full-screen photographs and thousands of animation and sound effects. AlphaBonk Farm's familiar objects expose the child to agriculture, biology, botany, etymology, foreign languages, history, mechanics, medicine and zoology helping him or her develop a well-rounded knowledge of the world around them.
