This is a Snake game much like any other Snake game. You control one of three selectable snakes as they slither about in a playfield filled with hazardous rocks and stumps, trying to eat enough fruit and mushrooms before time runs out. Once the snake is long enough, a key appears which can be picked up to reveal the exit. The biggest difference between AxySnake and all the others is its 3D perspective that allows you to view the game up close or from a distance. Unlike in other Snake games, in AxySnake the serpent can turn smoothly and move in any direction. Running into the snake's own tail reduces the snake's length, undoing your progress. Eating a rock, colliding with tree stumps or with walls stops the snake for a moment and reduces your score. You also have to avoid the bees and dragonflies that want to ruin your day by stealing your fruit and slowing you down. Moving into the borders of the playfield is dangerous, as it gives hidden monsters an opportunity to catch and devour the snake, costing the player a life. Running out of time causes a monster to come out of the playfield edge and kill your snake. |
