An interesting change of pace from the Bitmap style, Cadaver is a high-end arcade adventure. In the person of the thief Karadoc, players set out to raid the five stories of the castle Wulf. Legend has it that it's filled with treasure. What the legend didn't say is that the Castle is also filled with deadly traps, riddles and monsters. Surviving is not only a question of defending your life. Karadoc also has to prove his wit in collecting objects, putting them to the right use, mastering spells and solving tasks posed by the gods. Quick reflexes and jumping skill wouldn't hurt either. It utilises picturesque 3D isometric graphics, many a medieval mind bender and a nifty icon system by which to manipulate the world around your character to bring one of the favourite game types to the 16 bit computers - and with style. Hundreds of rooms to explore, a large range of spells and potions and a full compliment of adversaries to contend with. Cadaver is a challenging and tremendous game that continues to delight. |
