The biblical adventure game "Secret File Jesus" is the highlight of the electronic new publications of the German Bible Society for the Year of the Bible 2003. For the first time on this CD-ROM, the Jesus story can be experienced within an adventure game. The German Bible Society wants to give children and young people a modern approach to the Bible that arouses interest and is fun. The Danish and Dutch Bible Societies also issue versions. The region of Galilee around the year 30 AD forms the backdrop in realistic, detailed graphics, in which players follow in the footsteps of the itinerant preacher Jesus. In ten levels with a total playing time of over eight hours, you have to pass dangers, solve secrets and collect information. In the end, everything adds up to a large file in which the results of the investigation are recorded. It was developed with the "freie historiker büro" from Bergisch
Gladbach. With this programme, the German Bible Society is introducing a new didactic concept for the playful mediation of biblical content. Pastors and religious educators can use it as an exciting medium for the Bible and the person of Jesus in school or confirmation lessons. But even on the home computer, the makers hope, computer freaks will become Bible fans while playing, because Bible is so simply fun. |
