Traitor's Gate is a graphical adventure game based on burglary. You need to
learn security-code deciphering, computer hacking and how to pick locks. You are
hired by the Pentagon to steal the British Crown Jewels. The pentagon is aware of a
defector who plans to steal their jewels as well. Britain is not briefed of your
mission: You may neither be discovered nor harm any guards. Time is of the essence,
and special spy gadgets are at your disposal to get the job done quietly. The game
takes place in the Tower of London, replicated down to the finest details, and
presented to the player using QuicktimeVR technology. It presents you with a
series of logical challenges that can be readily solved, as long as you understand
the tools at your disposal. That's not to say it's easy - at times, it can be quite
difficult. Computer passwords, keys to secret passages, and the like can all be
found among the facts presented along your path to the jewels. Luckily, you can
photograph anything and send it back to your employers, ORPHIA, for analysis. Your
many tools also include a global-position system (which comes in very handy), a set
of lock picks, a keypad-code analyzer, a mechanical rope lift, knock-out gas, a
crossbow, a grappling hook, and much, much more. |
