Release Date: Apr "Wait - did you say the Knitty Kitty Club? Where all the criminals hang out?" "Not all of them, Tabby. I’m sure some hang out in...uh, dark alleyways, and large empty warehouses down at the docks, and such." Welcome to Meow Meow Furrington, capital city of cats, home of the world's biggest ball of yarn...and hotbed of crime. You are Cuddles Nutterbutter, feline private investigator and owner of two perfectly normal-sized paws, the doctor said so. After agreeing to take on a last-minute case for the Chief of Police, you and your plucky assistant find yourselves investigating a murder that risks upsetting the careful balance between the city's two most powerful crime families: the Montameeuws and the Catulets. Cuddles will need to use every skill he's learned - as well as his definitely-not-smaller-than-average paws - to poke, lick and talk his way through to the heart of the mystery...before some very dangerous cats decide to take matters into their own paws. Which, to clarify, are absolutely regular-sized. Features: Play through a charming comedy-noir storyline inspired by every cat ever, with fewer cat puns than you might expurrct; Explore the unique and intriguing city of Meow Meow Furrington across over eighty attractive, hand-drawn screens; Interact with over twenty-five hilarious characters; Discover a whole new dimension to everything in the game by using your wits tongue. Lick first, and ask questions later. Questions like "what did you expect that to taste like, Cuddles?"; Experience the city from two very different perspectives as you switch between Cuddles and his capable assistant, Tabby Marshmallow; Laugh and learn about the world of Furth with sixty thousand words of fully-voiced dialogue; Solve puzzles both fun and fiendish - but never unfair. Simple, Lighthearted Fun - this is our love-letter to point-and-click adventure games. We've been playing them for decades, and we love them - so we're making one. Combining our favourite elements of everything that came before, we hope to mix it up into something deeply entertaining. While we've drawn on film noir for the story's inspiration, we're leaning much more towards the comedy side of "comedy-noir". Expect some serious topics, addressed seriously - but we don't want to burden the whole game down under the weight of unrelenting grittiness. We feel that there's enough of that in the world already. Fun comes first, and we aim to be funny before all else, with comedy inspired by the likes of Taika Waititi. We strive for humour that anyone can appreciate, and writing that won't force you to mute your speakers when playing in public. So snuggle up with your favourite floofball and discover Nine Noir Lives.

They’ve previously worked on the Quest for Glory series, Castle of Doctor Brain, Terry Brooks’s Shannara, and Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption, set in the world of Quest for Glory. Here, they distill adventure games down to their core element: the story. This does not have inventory-object puzzles, 3D combat, or mazes of alleyways to explore. Instead, the focus is on story and characters. The result is a polished interactive novel suitable to hardcore Quest for Glory fans and novice players alike.

9 Years of Shadows Halberd Studios [top]

Release Date: TBA This is a metroidvania type game, realized in the convention of a platform action game. The game was developed by the independent Mexican team and was made possible, among other things, by a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Among the sources of inspiration for artists there are cult games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Super Metroid and Mega Man Zero. It takes us on a journey to a fantastic universe devoid of colors by a dark curse. The main heroine of the game is a warrior named Europa, who explores the secrets of Talos, a giant mechanical castle that used to be an orphanage. The protagonist's task is to unravel the mystery of missing orphans and to face the forces of darkness lurking in the shadows. The action is shown from the side. As we walk through countless corridors and rooms of the castle, we jump on the platforms, avoid traps and face various enemies, headed by powerful bosses. In addition to Talos, there are places to visit that are related to the memories of missing orphans; through the paintings that depict them we can move to, among others, oriental lands or the revolutionary Mexico City. The battles are dynamic, and during them you should not only show dexterity and reflexes (for example, to make a timely evasion and a counter-attack), but also skilfully use the skills of the protagonist. Europe fights with white weapons, but can also launch magical distance attacks. As she progresses, she gains numerous improvements (increasing her combat potential and providing access to previously blocked locations) and armour, which she can change "on the fly", gaining additional powers. Collectibles in the form of notes deserve a separate mention; in return, two composers can lengthen the bars of life and magical power of the protagonist, as well as treat us with melodies maintained at 432 Hz. It has atmospheric, dark graphics made in pixel art technique. The game is accompanied by a soundtrack composed by such celebrities as Michiru Yamane, Manami Matsumae (Castlevania and Mega Man series) and Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear Solid series).

Release Date: Mar This is a story-driven, platformer metroidvania game, with a touch of RPG and tons of humor. Made for gamers who’d love a platformer with a strong storyline, where you can talk with characters, solve side quests, find and buy items, change weapons and wearables, with great hand-drawn-looking backgrounds... All of that presented in a very comical way. The developers like to think of it as a blend between the gameplay of Hollow Knight, with the humor and parodist elements of a card game like Munchkin. In a village far, far away, a dull peasant named Rufus was living an ordinary life. The boss of the house was his wife, Brunilde, a boisterously smart and funny woman that you wouldn’t exactly call “pretty”. Life was nice and happy in the village, until one day, awakened by some magical mistake, the Evil One started to spread his minions around town, performing hideous acts against the people. The worst of which was the kidnapping of Brunilde. She was torn from Rufus’ hands and put in a prison at the Evil One’s castle. Transformed into a blondie duck-faced doll girl, she now spends all her time staring at herself in a small handheld mirror. Determined to win her back, Rufus made a helmet out of a bucket and picked a broom as a weapon. Everybody now calls him the CLUNKY HERO, but he might be the only hope to defeat the evil one that no one wants to call by name. Rufus is now on his journey to save his wife and the whole village, Features: 25+ levels, 15+ interiors, 6 skills, 6+ weapons, 20+ side quests, 30+ consumables, 10+ magic items, 10+ bosses, 20+ npcs, 30+ types of enemies.

Nighthawks: The Vampire RPG Quarter To Thirteen / Wadjet Eye Games [top]

Release Date: Feb Three months ago, you died. And in that moment you were reborn as something new. A monster. A predator. Not a creature of the night, but one of its masters. Unfortunately, things aren't simple as they used to be. Vampires have finally been exposed, and though your existence is tolerated, your new nature is not. You came to the City hoping for a new start, but found only suspicion and starvation. Now you stare at the ceiling of your cheap hotel room as a penniless outcast, suckling on rats and destined to wither away. But every new era brings new opportunities, and in the political chaos of a world gone mad, even an outcast may rise. An outcast can change everything. This is the story of how you rose. This is the brand new urban fantasy RPG from creator of The Blackwell Legacy, Unavowed, Technobabylon and writer/designer Richard Cobbett (Sunless Sea/Sunless Skies, The Long Journey Home). The initial concept for the game came when working on Sunless Skies and dreaming of seeing that calibre of interactive fiction merged with the atmosphere of some of his favourite urban-fantasy books and games, in particular 2004's Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines... and then deciding he wanted to play that new game far too much to just leave the idea sitting in the mental "What If?" folder. Welcome to the mean streets of a city grudgingly trying to show that humans and vampires can live together, despite the cynicism and conspiracies raging on both sides. It's a place of bleak horror and dark humour, filled with monsters who don't all have fangs and a thirst for blood, and featuring new stories down every dark alley. What part will you play, and how will you turn a newly awakened world to your advantage. This is a mix of story-driven RPG and undead life-simulation, where every decision you make is another move in your chess game against the world. Invest your time into learning new skills or honing your fighting style as you uncover the city's mysteries and venture deep into its darkest secrets. Gather fellow outcasts to your side, binding them with favours and choosing when to cash in. Manage your eternal thirst, legitimately, or balancing the risks of being caught stalking unwary victims and working the black markets. And of course, what would a vampire be without a few secret powers? Choose from a range of dark Gifts, including Corpse-Talking, Tenebraean Form and Mesmerise. Be careful to hide all evidence of them from the authorites, while keeping them ready as your ace in the hole. Embrace your vampire side, sprinkle a little cinnamon in your blood to handle that pesky iron aftertaste, and get ready to live the nocturnal nine-to-five. Structurally, think a freeform RPG core, with stories branching off it - some funny, some tragic, some horrific - where your decisions are always bleeding together. Get caught lying too often and your untrustworthy reputation will follow you around, while raising suspicion will draw the attention of first mortal, and then darker authorities. Do you, for instance, break a window and hurriedly search a crime scene while the alarms wail, pick the lock and explore at your leisure, or use vampire powers to impersonate the security guard and walk right in? The choice is yours, and all part of learning the beat of the city, developing new skills, and building up favours and contacts to help seize the day by the throat.
