Re: The Laffer Utilities (DOS/Windows)

Thanks for the confirmation. I didn't think there was a CD release! My search for the Windows version floppies continues... :)

Re: The Laffer Utilities (DOS/Windows)

Good work!

Was this an official release, though? I've never seen a physical copy of the Windows version, or even scan of the box, but I'd always assumed it was a floppy release with a Windows 3.x-era 16-bit installer. This ISO seems to be the installer from the later collection releases, possibly ...

Re: The Laffer Utilities (DOS/Windows)

Awesome! I presume those are disk images of the DOS version and not the Windows one?

No idea why it didn't show up in my searches here! Sorry!

Trouble imaging my Back to the Future Part II floppy

I'm trying to preserve my floppy image of this old game from 1990 and upload it here, however I'm a bit confused by something...

I'm using WinImage, and have managed to image the disk. I got a bad sector near the end, but a couple of retries seemed to get through it.

Once imaged, there are five ...

The Laffer Utilities (DOS/Windows)

Although not *technically* a "game", this was a spinoff from the Leisure Suit Larry adventure games by Al Lowe (and published by Sierra On-Line), The Laffer Utilities was a "spoof"/parody of then-current productivity and printshop software.

The DOS version is available as proper disk images here at ...

Prince of Persia passwords incorrect Topic is solved

The passwords for memprince.7z, oldprince.7z and pop1doc.7z are supposed to be "legendsworld" but this doesn't work. This is for the floppy image versions of the game found here.

Re: Beginner's guide to LW (How-Tos)

Thanks! I might stick with CloneCD in that case.

I will say that the image I made with Alcohol of the QFG Collection Disc 2 (QFG5 demo+soundtrack) won't mount in DOSBox via the IMG (as I said, no CUE is created apparently because "it's a multi-session disc")... it only seems to mount under Alcohol ...

Re: Beginner's guide to LW (How-Tos)

I've used CloneCD to create the image (tried using both 'CD Extra' and 'Mixed Media' profiles); it refuses to create a cue because it's multisession. Fair enough. Results in ccd, img and sub files.

I have then mounted it with CloneDrive (ccd) where it only shows up as an audio cd (no data is ...

Re: Beginner's guide to LW (How-Tos)

I'm trying to image some titles to provide for you folks here, but am having great difficulty with CDs that contain both data and audio. What would be the recommended software to use for this (and any particular settings) if I want a 1:1 copy (or as close as possible) in a format that others can use ...

Re: Fate by Numbers

Apologies for the major "necro" post, but I've been trying to get this game for ages after randomly learning of it, but the official site only offers a torrent (which is rarely seeded) rather than a direct download. The semi-official mirror they use is now inactive, too.

After discovering Legends ...

Re: Sierra games Codename Iceman, King's Quest & QFG Collect Topic is solved

Thanks heaps! Of all the broken links, I wanted that one the most as floppy images are much rarer than CD ones! :)

KQ Mask of Eternity is also "file not found" on 4shared. :(

I also can't seem to unpack the Manhunter 1 crack (which I'm very interested in for historical purposes)... the password ...
