Securom removal (Mission in Asia crash workaround)

Postby Terje_P » Fri Nov 21, 2014 11:28 pm

I found that deleting a Securom reg key with trashreg and then deleting the "folder" in the registry fixed a crash on startup and ingame in Mission in Asia.

1. get this registry cleaner...

http://www.shura.totalcmd.net/download/trashreg.zip

2. install or run it

3. click FILE , then click on FIND KEYS WITH NULL - EMBEDDED NAMES

4. it'll show you the SECUROM - CANNOT DELETE ME key

5. just delete the key

6. DONE!

Delete the rest:

Optional:
See if everything is removed with the official Securom removal tool https://support.securom.com/removaltool.html

Although Mission in Asia creates those registry key on launch every time, deleting the keys seems to have fixed a bug where the game would crash on the menu or in game. I managed to complete the game with this method anyway.

The official SecuROM removal tool doesn't remove all entries. Good to know, thanks.
