Hunting Games

Postby God Of Death » Tue Jun 05, 2007 6:55 pm

I've only seen two hunting games on here.
Is it because there more like a sport than action?

I've got a few i could upload.

Yeah, we have Redneck Deer Hunting because it uses the famous Build engine, Shark! Hunting The Great White because it's unique underwater fps shooter and Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 1 & 2 because the animals can kill you and there's arcade shooter sections in them as well. Natural Fawn Killers 1 and 2 are also arcadish, the Deer Avenger 3 & 4 are parodies where you hunt humans, and the Carnivores series is hunting dangerous dinosaurs which is atypical as well. Most hunting games are slower paced sims and hunting defenseless deers and such doesn't give the same adrenaline rush of typical FPS shooters where life and death is at stake.

they're still 3d shooters and they're legends because they've sold so well and showed there was a market for bubba games.

the first, 97-98 generation of them are less so 3d however

I could probably up Deer Hunter and Deer Hunter II later on.

To be exact, they are not shooters. They are hunt simulators.

Thank you captain obvious. It still takes place in a 3d space, with the firing of weapons involved, so it still counts whether you like it or not.

I think it's you who would like to see tanks games on 3dsl, Narfous. Well, maybe for hunting I'll be more kind.
If I think more I'd say every 3d game where you can shoot in it has its place on 3dsl. That means games with guys you control who takes a gun (FPS/TPS) and hunting games. Mechwarrior or descent games too, even if I don't like them. Tank games, I really don't like them. And I don't know what else.
But can we say "shooting" arrows ? Is Thief a 3dsl ?
Ejaculatio n is a way to "shoot" sper m (I don't take risk, I put spaces) ? Are 3d sex villa & Co 3dsl ?
I'll always have questions like that with 3dsl. And maybe if I was alone to do the 3dsl updates (yep, Scaryfun is always there), there would be much less entries on the site.

Look, the only thing I'm gonna say is the "3D Shooter-Related" category [and the "Adventure-Related" one, for that matter...] both serve their purpose quite well. Maybe it should be determined with "hunting" games whether it's an FPS or a sim. For example, I would not call "Deer Avenger," "Natural Fawn Killers," or "Carnivores: Cityscape" [the others don't count] hunting sims -- they'd be typical first-person shooters.
We'll start the ass-kissing with you

All Flying combat simulators are 3d shooters then. Difference only in weapons and targets.
