Please, allow me to dispel that thought.
NO!
The movie sincerely sucked. Highlight for spoilers.
Basically, the movie covers some aspects of 47's life that were never really touched upon in the games, namely his "training" as a child. Anyway, it would appear that Agent 47 is sexually inept; regardless of the advances made by the slutty Ukrainian (yes, she's a hooker in the movie) he just kinda sits there. The violence is pretty low-key -- I've seen worse in much "milder" seeming movies and frankly, there's too much gunplay for a traditional "Hitman" story. I mean, he only uses his trademark fibre wire once. The whole movie just feels like a bad action flick, rather than the dark, disturbing adventure it by all rights should have been. Also, even though the Ukrainian girl knows what's going on and is witness to his acts, she survives. My last complaint is an abundance of barcode-headed baddies looking to kill 47. I just didn't like it.

Movie was crap , the hole concept of hitman was never to be a mass murder but to kill them silently ,
the hole concept of this movie was stolen from Luc Besson "Leon"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110413/ , but they only a little bit changed the story , and added some Matrix quotes (yes they stole from this movie too)
this movie was the purest crap , it only made that 30 mill $ from the hype , nothing more nothing less
the only good game to movie ecranisations are:
Tomb raider I
Mortal Kombat I
Postal (this movie is great don't listen to the reviewers , if some one played the game specially postal 2 and the addon you will love it)
Here is the first scene from POstal :
