Hexen II

Hi,

i just downloaded Hexen II off www.kzpub.ru and extracted the files from the .rar, and clicked on the H2.exe file to play, it brings me to title screen and then a message saying : You need to re-install Hexen II on this computer. and i try to select new game and choose my character then difficulty but wont let me past the difficulty selection screen.

can anyone help me out ?

if the package includes some "SETUP.EXE" / "REGPATCH.EXE" / something similar or just a plain .reg file, you must run it once then try playing the game again.

there is a setup.exe file and i ran it but i still get that message, there is no .reg file either. i dont know what to do i was so looking forward to playing this game.

any other suggestions ?

The main purpose of this site is share FPS games as a community, and we have several links to various warez gaming sites, so we don't know if the games will work or not.

Of course that many of the games were tested.

Try to download the 'nestlesux' link (the other Hexen II link) and see if
the game will work...

Try also to find on the hexen II directories if there are files with extension *.nfo, these are iNFOrmation files or readmefirst files, like readme.1st

Try also to find cracking programs for example 'h2crack.exe'

Let me say that on normal Hexen II you need the original CD for the game run, so try to find some hexen II no-cd cracks on the internet and see if will work...

hmmm...youre probably using XP, and the setup.exe that sets up Hexen 2 registry entries dont work well with it (probably designed for Win9x/NT).

i did a fix for it;)
here you have patched soft & gl engine into final one (v1.11) and correct reg file.

if not: add a REG_SZ key in regedit.
in path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\control\ComputerName\ComputerName
name: "RAID"
