hi
want to know that cause i want to get an AV scanner
thats even good when there`s no INET connect
i can download the updates via another MACHINE and then load the files to mine
i like AVG but maybe there r better one out there

You can use Cure it!, a free AV scanner based on Dr.Web code. No need to download any updates.

no updates - no protection from new threats. Very wise solution
Kaspersky is the best thing around. The most effective, though can seriously slowdown your rig.
