hi
i dont know if some of you heard about this......
but it seems like that INTEL`s E2140/60 DUAL CORE cpu
is a full CORE 2 cpu with some, well lets call it "adjustments"
the e2140 has 1.6 ghz default speed
and the e2160 has a default speed of 1.8 ghz ( thats the one i own )
and when i believe those 20 sites and tests ive read by now
its possible to overclock these cpu`s to
3.0 GHZ ( e2140 ) or max 3.5 GHZ ( e2160 )
dont get this wrong...these are maximum values...... this wont work with every CPU of that sort
but a overclock value of 1.0 GHZ should be do able without problems.....
well after i got that great info i checked my bios...... but the multiplicator
is locked........
so i have to change the FSB but the problem is that i cant see any option to change it......
im pretty sure that i have to update my BIOS / BOARD with the newest
avaible driver.........
cause i believe when i flash the bios these options will become avaible / visible........
cause i didnt changed anything since i buyed the sys in store
that means i didnt flashed the bios etc......
is it possible that these options i need to OC are avaible when i FLASH my BIOS ??? cause like already mentioned above i still use the default system drivers....... i just use actual drivers for my graphic card and soundcard

I hope this is a computer you don't really use, cause there's always the chance that you'll accidentally destroy it. I did overclock a computer once but that was from 266Mhz to 500Mhz, that worked. The real problem is the heat generated from overclocking your CPU can be a really killer, overclocking from 1.6G to 3.6G is a big leap. The extra heat generated by the extra speed is more than the original heatsink is designed for, I'd look into upgrading your CPUs heatsink.

yeah i know
but i was just talking about the maximum thats possible
2.0 or 2.2 would be enough for me....
but meanwhile i found out why i dont have any of these options in the BIOS
cause the board i have ( socket 775 something like GCX5 from ASUS )
runs with a special bios which the MEDION Company made for the system i have
and they locked all these settings...... so my thought was to just flash my BIOS with the original ASUS BIOS Update for the BOARD......
but im afraid that this will fukk up my whole pc
btw im not quite sure if i can use the original BIOS update again
if my idea fails.....
i mean this should be possible if i put the files on my HDD before trying.... or not ?
