dark vengeance

Installed dark vengeance .iso, on winxp sp3. will not load and gives error message regarding buffer overlfow. Installed on my old machine win95 with voodoo1 , loads and works, but lags so badly , it's unplayable. Possibly any tips on how to get it to run with winxp? thanks

Figured out what the problem was. Pretty simple actually. I extracted the .img with cdmage. After extracted...go right to the dv folder for installation forget about autorun stuff. Install to any directory, using the set up program, but you must place win95 compatibilty tab on the setup .exe .. and then to the 1.2 patch. exe.,after its installed in that directory you chose with the setup.exe .Then ,after you run the 1.2 patch update, run a no cd crack, which is downloadable. ok, so now the game is set. On my machine, what was actually causing the crash, was Direct Sound. The game doesn't seem compatible with it. I'm running winxp sp3 with soundmax, and directx 9.0c..... so if you go to dxdiag.exe on your system.. go to sounds, turnoff, hardware acceleration, restart the game, and bingo!~ everything works beautifully.
